Non-Public School
Martins' Achievement School is certified by the State Department of Education to provide 7th through 12th grade Special Education services for learning (LD) or emotionally (ED) handicapped students. This is a specialized program designed to promote positive change in student behaviors and to provide an individualized curriculum. The development of a four year plan following local and state guidelines ensures that students become or remain eligible for high school graduation. Ancillary services of the school psychiatrist enable the Special Education credentialed staff to plan appropriate services. Consistent positive behavior management is coordinated with the residential program. This is supported by a ration of one trained staff for each six students. The school offers extended year (summer school) services as well.
For those students not requiring special education services, Home and Hospital Instruction (HHI) is provided by the local school district in addition to the structured, educationally focused enriching day program provided my Martins' Achievement Place. This ensures continuing education services and credits are earned towards high school graduation until such time as the student's behavior warrants safe return to a public high school campus.
Day students from local school districts are welcome if they have been identified to need similar services in their IEP. Please contact Lynn Carr, Principal for more information.
